The CHUN Capitol Hill People’s Fair is one of the largest two-day festivals in the country with over 200,000 fairgoers, and is one of Colorado’s longest-running outdoor urban festivals featuring handmade arts, crafts, food, affordable family activities, and live local entertainment. Each year, we set goals to improve and upgrade the People’s Fair. Last year, in response to the changing market and feedback from vendors, we made some much needed adjustments to the way we categorize applications, jury and accept exhibitors to participate in the Capitol Hill People’s Fair. We no longer have an arts and crafts or sundry application. Exhibitor applications have been broken down into separate applications, if you would like to participate in the Fair and do not fall under fine art or handcrafted please visit our How to Participate page for other opportunities.
All work under this application must be 100% original and produced by the Exhibiting Artist. Reproductions or prints of applicant’s original art may be sold, but should represent a percentage of the total work on display. Work done by a production studio, is machine-made or mass-produced is not acceptable under this application. No machine tooling, machine-screened patterns, no factory-produced wearable items regardless of additional modification or enhancement by the artist, no jewelry commercial casts, molds or production-studio work is allowed under this application. All work must be designed and executed by the accepted artist. Fine art application categories include: ceramics, drawings/graphics, fiber, glass, jewelry (all parts original), leather, metal, mixed media, painting, photography, sculpture, and wood.
Fine Art base fee schedule: $35 application fee, $300 (10×10) booth space **Fine art applications will be juried and will be sited for a location first, in order of jury score and application completion date. Fine art vendors will participate in the People’s Fair Best in Show. Based on feedback we received, Fine Art applicants will be in their own area and not placed around the Fair as in the past (area location at Fair TBD). If you are a Fine Art artist who does not want to be in the Fine Art area, please apply under the Hand Crafted application.
All work under this application must be personally handcrafted by the Exhibiting artist. A piece may incorporate some commercially produced parts, but the design and execution of the work must be the product of the Exhibiting Artist’s skills. Alteration, enhancements and embellishments by the artist and handcrafted components must dominate the commercial components under this application. Handcrafted application categories include: children’s Items, dried floral, jewelry (beaded or strung), mixed media, paper, scents & oils/candles/soaps, wearable art, and wood.
Hand Crafted base fee schedule: $35 application fee, $400 (10×10) booth space **Handcrafted applicants will be juried and will be sited for a booth location after Fine Art but before other Fair exhibitors in order of jury score and application completion date. There are no limits to the number of vendors accepted under this application other than fair footprint/space limitations.Hand Crafted applicants will be placed around the Fair with all other applicants.
