Meet our Interns!

With the 2013 People’s Fair rapidly approaching, we would like to take a moment to introduce you to this years group of hard-working interns! This year we have the help of Fena Flores, Cortney Golden, and Katherine Sutton.

Fena is graduating from the University of Colorado Denver this May with a Bachelor of Arts in Communication, Cum Laude and a minor in Music Industry Studies. Her emphasis in communications is in public relations and marketing so an internship with the CHUN Capitol Hill People’s Fair was a natural and exciting fit for her. A Colorado native, she has (surprisingly and regretfully) never been to the People’s Fair but is thrilled to get a chance to be a part of a Colorado tradition. Fena is antsy to explore more of the world and is hoping to move to our Nation’s capital after graduation. She enjoys meeting new people and laughing with old friends, being active and soaking up the sun, watching any movies with vampires (except for Twilight), zombies, blood, guts, or chainsaws, exploring both new and familiar places, and finding the good in any situation.

Cortney Golden is finishing up her third year at the University of Denver where she is working towards her BSBA in Finance with a minor in Psychology. Outside of school Cortney enjoys spending time with her five-year-old son and fiancé watching super hero movies, playing games, riding bikes, going to mountains, fishing, any excuse they can get to enjoy the beautiful Colorado weather! Growing up working festivals and events with her father through Pepsi, Cortney is enjoying working with Capitol Hill United Neighborhoods toward the production of the 2013 People’s Fair!

Katherine Sutton is graduating from the University of Connecticut this May with a Bachelor of Arts in English and a concentration in Native American Studies. A recent transplant to Denver, Katherine lives in the Capitol Hill neighborhood and was excited to become involved with the community and the production of the People’s Fair! She has previous event planning experience but nothing to the scale of the People’s Fair and is excited to be a part of such a major Colorado festival. Outside of work and school Katherine enjoys hiking, riding her bike around Denver, reading just about anything, cooking, weekend adventures, and discovering as much as she can about this new and wonderful city!
