Two Ways to Help People’s Fair Be Green!Posted: March 14, 2012
The People’s Fair along with a few other outdoor festivals are working hard to make your favorite festivals Green! We want to bring you the best festivals you’ve been to, but we also want to make sure we are doing our best to minimize the footprint these large fairs leave behind.
There are two ways you can help out this green initiative of Green Up Denver!!
- On Wednesday, April 4th, you can shop at one of five metro Whole Foods locations! 5% of all net sales will go to the Green Up Denver initiative. All proceeds will be benefiting the initiatives at the Cherry Creek Arts Festival, CHUN Capitol Hill People’s Fair, Denver County Fair, and Pridefest! These events are working hard to bring recycling, composting, plastic bag and cardboard collection to the fair! They are also working to have biodegradable food service paper goods, reducing and recycling printed materials and recycling the dynamic art installations that you, the attendee, help to create.
What Whole Foods are participating? Shop at Cherry Creek, Capitol Hill, Colorado Blvd, Tamarac and Washington Park! Let’s all do our part in keeping Denver a beautiful place to work, live and play!
- Do you like scavenger hunts? A need for adventure, the desire to work quickly while utilizing your skills? And most importantly having fun? Well the Denver Ultra Dash is for you! On April 22nd, Earth Day, you can be a part of the ultimate scavenger hunt in downtown Denver! There will also be a costume contest with the theme Recycling Education! The event is to support and benefit Green Up Denver! Another way you can help this amazing initiative that helps outdoor festivals in their quest to make your favorite fairs green!
